| No TrackBacks

If you would like to upload course materials, such as: documents, videos, audio files, etc.,  you could easily do that with Moodle in a few steps.

Step 1: Turn the editing mode on. You could do that by clicking on the appropriate button at the Administration menu.

Step 3: Start by creating a folder where you will keep your files. You can create different folders for different tasks, i.e. for assignments, for readings, etc.

Step 4: Go the folder in which you want to upload files. Click on the "Upload file" button.  Select the file from your computer,  and click on "Upload this file". ATTN: Moodle has set a limit to the file size - files cannot exceed 2GB! When file is successfully uploaded you should see the message "File uploaded successfully".

Step 5: Whenever you are done uploading the files, you may return to the course home page. To go to the home page, simply click on the course name at the top of the page.

upl5.gifStep 6: So far, you have only uploaded the files to Moodle. This, however, is not sufficient for students to see the uploaded files. Thus, in order students to see the files, you need to assign the files to the calendar.

Go to a particular date and select "Add a resource". Then choose "Link to a file or web site".upl6.gif

Step 7: Title the file in the "Name" space (this is the way it is going to appear on the calendar). For example, if you have already uploaded a file Reading_1.doc , it might be a good idea to title your file "Reading 1".

Step 8: Now you need to link the calendar assignment to the uploaded file.  Go to "Choose or upload file".

Step 9: Go to the appropriate folder and mark the appropriate file. Then hit "Choose".
upl8.gifTo save the file on the calendar, go to the bottom of the page and click on "Save and return to course".
The file should now appear on the course calendar and should be visible to students.
